Blue Bot Games Based on Picture Books

After a six-week rotation learning about various robots, third graders in three classes were given a design challenge to create a board game based on a picture book. Students were given a choice of books that might work well for a game. One class had been learning about fairy tales, so their choices were some of these.Teams of students worked together to create any kind of game that might work with Blue Bot robots used to go through the game.

When the games were finished, kindergarten classes were invited to play the games with the third grade creators. Two representatives from each class will be playing their games with educators at May's Dynamic Landscapes conference.
